Role: Duty Manager
Salary: up to £32,000 
Location: Cumbria, UK

We are delighted to be working with our fantastic luxury hotel property client who are looking to add an experienced Duty Manager to their team.
 
Purpose of the Role:
As a Duty Manager, you will be the key representative for outstanding guest service, overseeing the daily operations of the business, and acting as the primary contact when issues arise. Your role is to ensure that guests have an exceptional experience by assisting colleagues in fostering cooperation across the property. You will respond to guest feedback, collaborate with Department Heads to address guest preferences, and ensure any issues are resolved promptly. Additionally, you will work closely with the Events Team, managing the operations of the conference and event spaces, serving as the main point of contact for event organisers, and ensuring delegates have a memorable experience for all the right reasons.
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome guests by reviewing arrival lists.
  • Assist various departments in resolving issues.
  • Respond to First Aid and Fire emergencies.
  • Attend to special guests, such as VIPs, and address their inquiries.
  • Provide information about amenities, local area, and venues, and promote services.
  • Anticipate guest needs and build rapport with customers.
  • Offer assistance with tasks such as confirming travel arrangements and taking messages.
  • Oversee daily operations to ensure employee productivity and process efficiency, while fostering a positive work environment.
  • Supervise daily operations to guarantee adherence to hotel standards.
  • Address guest inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure seamless collaboration between all departments to deliver a high-quality guest experience.
  • Manage the organisation, setup, and smooth running of meetings, conferences, banquets, weddings, and related events.
  • Maximise sales opportunities during the planning and operational stages of events.
  • Continuously improve event delivery and enhance the guest experience.

Key Skills and Attributes:

  • Proven experience in Food and Beverage Management.
  • Strong financial acumen, with demonstrable skills in budgeting, forecasting, margin management, and KPI delivery.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, adaptable to changing environments.
  • Strong leadership qualities, with a hands-on, lead-by-example approach.
  • A commitment to exceptional guest service, with a passion for food, beverage, and the hospitality industry.
  • Ability to offer creative solutions, along with advice and recommendations.
  • High personal integrity, with the capacity to excel in a demanding environment.
  • Strong communication and listening skills, with excellent proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing.
  • Experience with IT systems.
  • An open, positive, and communicative personality.
