Achieve Hospitality are delighted to be working with our fantastic client who are looking to add a Pastry CDP to their team.
 
Job Summary:
We are seeking a creative and passionate Pastry Chef de Partie to join our clients culinary team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head Pastry Chef to prepare and present high-quality desserts and pastries, ensuring consistency and excellence in all sweet creations. As a Pastry Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for managing your section, maintaining the kitchen’s hygiene standards, and contributing to the development of innovative pastry dishes.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and Present Pastry Dishes: Create a wide range of desserts, including cakes, tarts, bread, chocolates, and other confections, ensuring consistency, taste, and visual appeal.
  • Section Management: Oversee your section in the pastry kitchen, ensuring efficient workflow, cleanliness, and that dishes are prepared on time and to the restaurant’s standards.
  • Collaborate on Menus: Assist in the development of seasonal pastry menus, contributing creative ideas and keeping up with modern pastry trends.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all ingredients, recipes, and techniques adhere to high standards, maintaining the consistency of the final product.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior pastry chefs, providing guidance and training as necessary to ensure smooth operations in the pastry section.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Maintain hygiene and safety standards in the kitchen, ensuring all staff adheres to food safety regulations and protocols.
  • Inventory & Ordering: Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering pastry ingredients, and manage the storage of pastry items to minimise waste and spoilage.
  • Problem Solving: Address and resolve any issues within the pastry section swiftly to avoid service disruptions.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of professional pastry experience, preferably in a fine dining or high-volume environment.
  • Culinary Education: Diploma or certification in Patisserie, Pastry Arts, or a related culinary field.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, ingredients, and plating styles. Proficiency in tempering chocolate, lamination, and other pastry fundamentals.
  • Creativity: Ability to create visually stunning and flavorful pastries, with a flair for innovation and detail.
  • Organisational Skills: Excellent multitasking and time-management abilities to handle a busy kitchen environment.
  • Team Player: Capable of working well in a team, supporting others, and leading when necessary.
  • Attention to Detail: High focus on precision, consistency, and presentation.
  • Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication with colleagues, management, and suppliers.

Desirable Traits:

  • Passionate about pastry and desserts, with an eagerness to learn and grow.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of global dessert trends and techniques.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
