Role: Maintenance Engineer (Duty Fitter)
Location: Cumbria, UK
Salary: up to £30,000

We are delighted to be working our fantastic luxury hotel client who are looking to add an experienced Estate Maintenance Engineer to their team. 

The Role:
As an essential member of the Property & Estate Services team, the Maintenance Duty Fitter plays a key role in delivering reliable, professional maintenance services across the Estate.

This includes responsive, preventative, and ongoing maintenance work. The primary goal is to meet operational needs through scheduled preventative maintenance, routine inspections, and proactive repairs. The role also involves addressing emergency fire alarms promptly and serving as the first point of contact for stakeholders regarding maintenance issues.
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the team to maintain and repair estate properties, covering areas such as plumbing, heating, electrical work, joinery, general building repairs, and painting/decorating.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests while on-call, handling job cards and radio calls efficiently.
  • Perform tasks that may require working at height or in confined spaces, with proper safety training.
  • Proficiently use tools and equipment, follow repair instructions, and perform measurements and calculations as needed.
  • Conduct regular inspections, log faults, maintain accurate records, and ensure safe use of vehicles, tools, and equipment.
  • Actively promote Environmental Policy, ensure fire safety, and respond swiftly to fire alarms.
  • Maintain strong communication and customer service, attending relevant training, and supporting the Maintenance Manager in ensuring compliance with site assets.

The ideal candidate will exhibit qualities such as creativity, passion, adaptability, and a drive to deliver an outstanding guest experience. They should have a solid understanding of general maintenance, safety regulations, and compliance requirements, and be able to work independently or as part of a team. Attention to detail, self-motivation, and an organised approach are crucial. A professional appearance, strong work ethic, and flexibility in managing varied tasks and schedules are essential, along with excellent communication skills and a full UK driving license.
