Achieve Hospitality are delighted to be working with our fantastic client who are looking to add an experienced Bar Manager to their current team.
 
Role Overview:
As a Bar Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the bar, ensuring that you deliver exceptional service to customers. This role is particularly well-suited for someone with extensive experience in cellar management and a deep knowledge of beer. You’ll be responsible for managing all aspects of the bar, from team schedules to stock management, while driving a beer-led focus throughout the customer experience.
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Cellar Management:
    • Maintain and manage the cellar, ensuring all beers are stored correctly and served at their best quality.
    • Manage beer rotations, including keg and cask handling, and work closely with suppliers to ensure a variety of popular and seasonal offerings.
    • Oversee the cleaning and maintenance of the beer lines, maintaining quality control standards at all times.
  • Team Leadership & Training:
    • Create weekly rotas that balance staffing needs with budget requirements, ensuring adequate coverage during peak hours.
    • Recruit, train, and develop bar staff to ensure high standards of product knowledge, particularly with our beer selection.
    • Foster a positive work environment, motivate staff, and maintain a high level of team morale.
  • Customer Service:
    • Deliver outstanding customer service, acting as a point of contact for any escalated issues.
    • Create and promote a welcoming atmosphere, encouraging a loyal customer base and attracting new patrons.
    • Organise and oversee beer-related events, such as tasting nights or brewery events, that highlight our selection.
  • Stock & Financial Management:
    • Oversee stock levels, order supplies, and manage inventory, particularly focusing on beer and beverage selections.
    • Implement effective cost controls to stay within budget while maximising profitability.
    • Complete cash handling, banking, and reconciliation tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Compliance & Health and Safety:
    • Ensure that all licensing laws and health and safety regulations are adhered to within the bar.
    • Maintain hygiene standards throughout the bar and cellar areas and conduct regular risk assessments.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Bar Manager, Assistant Manager, or in a similar leadership role within a high-volume, beer-focused establishment.
  • Extensive knowledge of cellar management, including beer storage, line cleaning, and quality control.
  • Experience with rota planning, managing labor costs, and delivering excellent service under pressure.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage inventory and maintain stock levels effectively.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to build rapport with both customers and team members.
  • Personal License Holder preferred.
