Role: Sales Manager
Location: Southampton, Hampshire, UK
Salary: £35,000 circa (dependant on experience)
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, 5 days over 7.
Accommodation: Not Available

Achieve Hospitality 
are delighted to be partnering with a stunning, traditional Hotel, renowned for its events and conference venue in the heart of Hampshire. They are keen for an experienced Sales Manager to join their team.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead the hotel’s sales activity across all segments including corporate, conference, weddings and leisure
  • Support and develop the hotel wedding, conference and events sales team
  • Work alongside the Assistant Director of Sales to set and agree the commercial strategy for the hotel
  • Adopt a proactive approach to re-establishing relationships with past, present and potential accounts, both in the corporate and agency markets
  • Conduct face to face sales appointments, on property and in the market
  • Be a champion across the hotel to drive a sales culture
  • Maximise all Meeting and Events Sales revenue opportunities
  • Conduct detailed and organised appointments through management of email inbox and appointment diary.
  • Encourage the team to drive enquiry conversion and recognise opportunities to upsell to clients.
  • Achieving revenue targets as agreed and set out in the budget working towards generating an overall increase in year-on-year sales.
  • Engage regularly with lapsed clients, past enquiries and repeat bookers to maintain an excellent level of repeat business.
  • To ensure a high quality of customer service is delivered on time and to budget, at every event leading to successful account management.
  • Liaise & build good working relationships with all departments and external suppliers.
  • Conduct site tours and meetings with prospective clients to showcase our venue.
  • Prepare and present proposals, contracts, and pricing packages tailored to the specific needs and preferences of each client.
  • Manage the wedding sales pipeline and track sales metrics to evaluate performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Understand the competitive market place and implement approaches to ensure the hotel stays ahead in the local market
  • Seek new and incremental wedding & events business by being proactive and reactive in managing both the website marketing, social media platforms, Open Days, brochure design and direct enquiries.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with potential clients, event planners, and vendors to generate leads and secure bookings.

Candidate Requirements:

  • 3–5+ years of proven experience in hospitality sales or hotel group/event sales.
  • Previous experience as a Sales Manager, Sales Executive, or similar role in a hotel, resort, or hospitality group.
  • Be highly motivated, positive and well connected
  • Ability to develop and execute sales strategies to drive occupancy and revenue.
  • Experience preparing sales reports, forecasts, and market analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of competitive set and local/national hospitality market trends.
  • Time management and ability to handle multiple accounts.
