Job Title: Live-in or Live-out Nanny/Housekeeper
Location: Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire
Start Date: July 2025
Salary: £30,000 gross per annum (live-in); negotiable for live-out depending on experience
Working Schedule: Monday to Friday, 30 – 40 hours weekly, flexible
Accommodation for Live-in: 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage with a garden and parking space
A kind and welcoming family based just outside Bishop’s Stortford is seeking a long-term Nanny/Housekeeper to support their household from July 2025. The role offers a blend of childcare and housekeeping duties and can be live-in or live-out for candidates located within a 15-minute commute. The family has one daughter (aged 4) who will be starting full-time school in November and is looking for someone warm, reliable, and flexible to join their peaceful countryside home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Care for the family’s 4-year-old daughter before and after school
- Prepare healthy, simple meals for the child (lunch or dinner)
- Engage in age-appropriate activities and support the child’s routine
- Maintain cleanliness and order throughout the main house (three-storey, four-bedroom property)
- Manage laundry and ironing
- Support with general household organisation
- Some pet care (a dog walker is employed)
- House sit during family travel when required
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will be experienced in both childcare and housekeeping, with a warm, can-do attitude and the ability to manage their time independently. You’ll be someone who enjoys rural life, is comfortable with animals, and values consistency and calm in the home.
Essential:
- Experience in a similar Nanny/Housekeeper or Mother’s Help role
- Confident caring for school-aged children
- Strong housekeeping skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable around dogs and happy to assist with light pet care
- Flexible, proactive, and able to manage a changing weekly schedule
- Eligible to work in the UK
Preferred:
- Based within 15 minutes of Bishop’s Stortford (for live-out candidates)
- A driver is welcome but not essential
