August at Achieve Hospitality
August has been a busy month for Achieve Hospitality. We have been working across multiple time zones, placing staff in roles from the US to Europe across both our private household and luxury hospitality teams.
Some of us also managed to fit in some well-earned summer time off visiting Croatia, Turkey, Egypt, Portugal and Croatia to name a few. The team are recharged and ready for what is shaping up to be a very active autumn.
Private Households – What We Are Seeing
The US Market Continues to Intensify
Demand from UHNW households in the United States is only growing. Multi-residence families are adding real complexity to hiring, with principals splitting time between New York, the Hamptons, Palm Beach, Aspen, and beyond. That means experienced staff need to be mobile, adaptable, and able to maintain consistent standards across very different environments.
Competition for the best candidates in these markets is fierce. If you are a client looking to hire, moving decisively matters more than ever. Our Private Staffing Managing Consultant, Jana Kocevska explores this further in her recent article, Why the Best UHNW Household Candidates Donโt Wait: A Recruiterโs Perspective.ย
Global Opportunities Are Expanding
Beyond the US, we are seeing strong hiring activity in the Middle East and parts of Asia. Households in these regions are building out professional staffing structures at pace, and for candidates open to international roles, the opportunities are increasing and worth attention.
We have been placing across Europe too, with briefs coming in from France, Italy, Spain, and beyond as summer residences reached peak demand.
Retention is now as important as recruitment. The cost of losing a trusted member of household staff, in time, disruption, and the search process itself, is significant. Clients who invest in structured onboarding and clear long-term expectations are seeing better outcomes.
What Candidates Should Know
Candidates with a proven record of confidentiality are commanding a premium on salary. It is one of the clearest differentiators in the private staffing market right now.
As employers are also more focused on retention than at any point in recent years, it means you are in a strong position to ask the right questions before accepting a role – What does onboarding look like? Is there a clear path for growth? How is the role structured across multiple residences?
If you have experience working across countries or in internationally mobile households, that profile is in high demand.
Luxury Hospitality – What We Are Seeing
A Summer That Did Not Let Up
The luxury hospitality team has had an exceptionally active summer. Chef roles have dominated the brief list, from head chefs and sous chefs through to pastry specialists and private dining leads. Demand has come from across the UK, Europe, and the US, and in many cases the crossover with private household clients has been significant.ย
New Openings Are Creating Real Opportunity
Summer 2026 has seen a wave of new luxury hotel openings across Europe, the US, and Asia. Each one builds out a full team from scratch, from GM level right through to guest-facing roles, and that means opportunities at every level of seniority.
For candidates with new-opening experience, this is a particularly strong market. Employers are not just filling vacancies; they are building cultures, and they are willing to pay for people who understand what that takes.
Leadership talent remains the hardest to find. Salaries are rising faster than revenue in many venues, and experienced candidates are in a strong negotiating position as a result.
The Shift Toward Precision Hiring
Clients in the luxury hospitality space are moving away from reactive, volume-based hiring. The focus now is on precision, so finding the right person for a specific environment, service style, or stage of growth.
That shift benefits candidates who can articulate what makes them distinctive. A clear track record, a defined service philosophy, or specific new-opening experience will carry more weight than a long list of previous employers.
Winter Season – Chalet Staffing Is Already Moving
With autumn approaching, chalet season is already on our radar. Winter season staffing for ski chalets across the Alps and beyond typically moves faster than people expect. If you are a client planning for the winter season, now is the time to start those conversations.
For candidates with chalet experience, whether as a chalet host, private chef, or house manager, we are already taking briefs for the coming season. Get in touch with the team to register your availability.

Looking Ahead
September typically marks the point where both markets shift up a gear. Households return from summer residences, hospitality venues begin planning for the final quarter, and hiring decisions that were deferred over the summer get made quickly.
If you are a client with a brief that needs filling before the end of the year, now is the right time to get it in front of us. If you are a candidate thinking about a move, the next few weeks are historically one of the strongest windows to explore what is out there.
