Our valued client in Central London is searching for a live-in Houseman/Dog Handler to join their household team, with a salary on offer of £70,000-£75,000 per year.
 
In this role, you will be responsible for general maintenance of the property, as well as supporting the Head Dog Handler in caring for the family’s Weimaraner dogs, including caring, walking and feeding. 
 
The role also includes frequent travelling for up to 6 months of the year so candidates must be flexible to do so, sometimes at the last minute.  
 
The role also involves doing small jobs around the house that require immediate attention, however larger tasks will be handled by the maintenance team. 
 
Candidates must have a full driving licence as there will be times when transportation is required for the family, a car will be provided for this. Candidates must also have a CP or security background due to the confidentiality and discretion of the family. The role comes with a 2-bedroom flat in Central London, rent free.
 
Main responsibilities:

  • Liaise with the Head Dog Handler to organise travel itineraries, with your primary responsibility being for the 5 Weimaraner dogs
  • Care for the dogs in the house in all aspects, from feeding, walking and general care
  • Travel with the dogs when the family are travelling, this usually involves travelling in a separate plane for periods of the Principals holiday
  • Support the household team with small errands around the property, such as changing light bulbs and other small tasks
  • Run errands for the family, including some chauffeuring, grocery shopping, among other tasks

Ideal candidate

  • Experience of working in a private household is essential as the family values discretion
  • Flexibility to travel, mainly to Europe, extensively with the family and their dogs for up to 6 months of the year
  • Certifications and experience in Close Protection or Security 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion with the family’s affairs
  • Experience with pets and the caring of them
  • Ability to complete small tasks around the house 
  • Full, clean driving licence and ability to drive globally
