Job Role: Full-time Horticultural Manager
Salary: $160,000+ per annum and full benefits

Short Description:
 
We are seeking an experienced Horticulturist skilled in handling various garden settings and overseeing extensive land projects.
 
The ideal candidate is a team-oriented leader with excellent interpersonal skills and time flexibility, as weekends may be required.
 
The property covers approximately 120 acres, including maintained lawns and gardens surrounding various structures, as well as natural fields, meadows, and extensive woodlands. A significant aspect of this position involves vegetable gardening, supported by a greenhouse for year-round food production.
 
The property also features well-established flower gardens and a flourishing orchard.
 
Duties:

• Uphold high horticultural standards and practices, by creating plans based on daily requirements and performing tasks in the exterior gardens.
• Manage and support overall plant health and soil nutrition strategies for all gardens.
• Knowledge of toxin-free organic gardening practices is required.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive composting program for the property.
• Possess strong knowledge and experience in pruning fruit-bearing trees (i.e., apple, pear, peach), woodland management, seasonal vegetable gardens, ornamental trees and shrubs, as well as perennial beds.
• Have a working knowledge of field and meadow management.
• Have experience with greenhouse management and maintenance.
• Cultivate and sustain professional relationships with current staff, as well as external service providers and contractors, ensuring multiple bids are secured for external services.
• Develop and oversee an equipment maintenance program.
• Knowledge of art installation is a plus.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture
• Minimum four years experience as a professional horticulturist
• Valid state driver’s license
• NOFA certification is highly desirable
• Interest in beekeeping

Compensation:

• Salary commensurate with experience starting from $160,000 per annum
