Job Title: Full-time Laundress (Temporary – until a permanent candidate is found)
Location: Fisher Island, Miami, FL
Working days and hours: Monday – Friday. 9-5 pm OR Tuesday – Saturday 9-5 pm

We are supporting our valued client in their search for a live-out Laundress for their property in Fisher Island, with a salary on offer of $35-40 per hour.
In this role, you will be responsible for all laundry duties in the household and working as part of the team to ensure the highest standards are met at all times.
Candidates are required to work in a team of 10, which includes Housekeepers, Nannies, and a Chef.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 

• Expert Fabric Care: Handle luxury garments, including couture, cashmere, silk, linen, and specialty fabrics, ensuring proper cleaning methods tailored to each material.
• Washing & Drying: Manage delicate handwashing, appropriate machine settings, and specialized drying techniques to preserve fabric integrity.
• Stain Removal: Assess and treat stains with precision, using only approved, non-damaging methods.
• Steaming & Pressing: Ensure all clothing is impeccably pressed or steamed to maintain pristine presentation.
• Organization & Storage: Maintain an organized system for storing garments, using breathable garment bags, acid-free tissue, and proper hanging methods.
• Seasonal Wardrobe Management: Rotate and store seasonal clothing with proper protective measures.
• Linen & Home Textile Care: Launder and maintain high-end linens, towels, and bedding with the same level of attention as garments.
• Collaboration: Communicate with tailors, dry cleaners, and specialists to ensure the best care for garments and accessories.
• Inventory & Supplies: Maintain an inventory of cleaning products, detergents, and garment care tools, sourcing specialty items when necessary.
• Discreet & Confidential Service: Work in a private, luxury household with the utmost discretion and professionalism.

 
Qualifications & Experience:
 

• Proven experience in laundering and garment care, preferably within a luxury home, high-end boutique, or couture fashion setting.
• Expert knowledge of fabric types, garment construction, and high-end clothing brands.
• Understanding of best practices for stain removal, washing techniques, and fabric preservation.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a meticulous approach to clothing maintenance.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of organization.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with household staff and external vendors.
• Flexibility & Adaptability to accommodate last-minute wardrobe needs and travel requirements.

 
Preferred Qualifications:
 

• Training or certification in textile care, garment preservation, or a related field.
• Experience working in ultra-high-net-worth households.
• Familiarity with specialty cleaning equipment and eco-friendly cleaning products.
