Maintenance Manager – £60,000-£75,000 per year
 
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee the upkeep of a prestigious portfolio of private and commercial properties in London. This role offers a competitive salary of £60,000-£75,000 per year.
 
Role Overview:
As the Maintenance Manager, you will take full responsibility for facilities management, ensuring the seamless operation of all properties. Key duties include the procurement and management of external maintenance, cleaning, and waste management services, as well as close collaboration with the client’s security team.
This is a hands-on role, requiring candidates who are willing to carry out repairs themselves when necessary. You will also oversee external subcontractors and must be confident in managing costings and budgets.
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily maintenance of the property portfolio.
  • Conduct regular inspections of plant and equipment.
  • Ensure emergency equipment checks are completed (fire alarms, emergency lighting, fire extinguishers).
  • Supervise and manage external maintenance contractors.
  • Maintain statutory documentation, including risk assessments, fixed asset registers, Health & Safety policies, accident logs, and fire safety records.
  • Manage the upkeep and servicing of building equipment.
  • Assist with the maintenance of Operations and Maintenance Manuals.
  • Carry out ad hoc maintenance and repairs when required.
  • Manage annual key building maintenance checks.
  • Respond to urgent building requirements while properties are in use.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager overseeing both private and commercial properties.
  • Strong carpentry skills, plumbing knowledge and painting and decorating are essential. 
  • Background in luxury hospitality is highly desirable.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in managing external contractors and costings.
  • Multi-skilled in property maintenance, including mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Experience operating Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • Familiarity with regulatory guidelines and compliance.
  • Proactive, hands-on, and solutions-focused approach to maintenance.
