Live-In Landscape Gardener, South Carolina

Achieve Hospitality
Position: Live-in or Out Landscape Gardener
Location: Simpsonville, SC (Greenville area)
Salary: from $65,000 per year
Hours: Monday – Friday (09:30 – 16:00)
We are delighted to be assisting a returning Achieve Hospitality client in Simpsonville, SC, in their search for a dedicated and capable Landscape Gardener to join their long-standing estate team. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining and developing beautiful grounds and enjoys working in a close-knit, loyal team on a well-established private property.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated yet collaborative, with a proactive approach to outdoor maintenance and garden development. No previous golf course experience is required, as external consultants are in place to support that area. However, a passion for landscaping, gardening, and working with nature is essential.
Accommodation is available, which is a private, two-bedroom modular home, located off the main estate. It features two master bedrooms, a kitchen, and a carport. Pets and family are welcome, as the role would suit a family-minded individual who values privacy as well as a warm, community atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Property Manager and Estate Manager on landscaping projects, including new walkways, cutting gardens, and revitalised outdoor spaces
- Maintain pastures, shrubbery, and landscaped areas, ensuring they are clean, well-kept, and seasonally appropriate
- Care for a variety of plants, flowers, and garden beds – planting, pruning, fertilising, and weeding as needed
- Assist with the development of a small golf course area (experience not required – consultants provided)
- Support the upkeep of a horse-friendly estate, working alongside the barn staff and wider team as needed
- Keep all outdoor areas, including walkways, patios, and driveways, tidy and hazard-free
- Coordinate with irrigation repair companies and manage day-to-day irrigation needs
- Maintain and care for all gardening tools, equipment, and outbuildings
- Potential to take over duties previously outsourced to landscaping companies as the estate moves in-house
Requirements:
- Prior experience in landscape gardening, estate groundskeeping, or a similar outdoor role
- Physically fit and capable of manual outdoor labour
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, respectful, and down-to-earth in your approach
- Valid driver’s licence and clean driving record
- Comfortable around animals (especially horses)
