Salary: €35,000 circa (dependant on experience)
Work Schedule: Full Time, Permanent

Overview and Opportunity:

Achieve Hospitality are delighted to be partnering with a 13th century Castle, in Straffan, County Kildare, Ireland. Once a medieval fortress, it later became a private home and is now a luxury hotel. Known for its mix of architectural styles, it’s popular for weddings and events, and easily accessible from Dublin.

They are keen for a passionate and driven Wedding Planner to join their established Sales & Events team. The role is full time, 40 hours per week.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Meet with prospective couples and event organisers to understand their individual needs, visions, preferences, budgets, and any specific requirements for weddings and events.
  • Present and recommend available wedding and event packages offered, tailoring options to suit clients’ needs and preferences, upselling where possible.
  • Showcase the property by providing tours of available event spaces within the hotel, showcasing amenities and features that align with clients’ preferences.
  • Attendance with the team at wedding and other showcase events external to the the property, to meet with prospective couples and clients.
  • Recommend and coordinate with preferred vendors, including florists, photographers, musicians, decorators, and any other event service providers.
  • Assist in the overall planning process for weddings and events, including developing timelines, layouts, and seating arrangements.
  • Utilising the Moposa system to ensure effective documentation, recording and communication at all times.
  • Help clients create and manage their budgets for weddings and events, providing cost estimates and tracking expenses related to the hotel’s services.
  • Oversee all aspects of wedding and event days, including coordinating with hotel departments, managing event setup, and ensuring a seamless flow of activities.
  • Maintain regular and open communication with clients and the Sales & Events team, providing updates and addressing any concerns throughout the planning process.
  • Coordinate and lead wedding rehearsals or event walkthroughs to ensure those involved understands their roles and responsibilities
  • Greet and assist guests during weddings and events, providing directions and answering any questions related to the hotel’s services.
  • Collaborate with the hotel’s sales, events and banquet teams to ensure event spaces are set up according to agreed clients’ specifications and in a visually appealing manner.
  • Act as the point of contact for any issues or emergencies that may arise during weddings and events, promptly resolving them discreetly, utilising the support of the senior management team where necessary.
  • Conduct post-event follow-up with clients to gather feedback, express gratitude, and ensure overall client satisfaction
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the Sales & Events team from time to time.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 years previous experience in wedding planning, event coordination, or a related role within the hospitality industry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with clients, vendors, and hotel staff.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, based on event schedules.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple weddings and events simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring flawless execution of weddings and events
  • Creativity and an eye for design & contribute unique ideas and enhance the overall event experience
  • Problem-solving capabilities to handle any challenges that may arise during wedding and event planning and execution
  • Proficiency in using our event planning software package (Moposa), accommodation management (Guestlline / ResLynx) online tools, Canva and other relevant Microsoft Office applications where necessary.
  • Knowledge of wedding and event trends, traditions, and industry best practices.
