Role: Special Education Nanny
Location: Aspen, CO
Salary: $110,000-$120,000 per annum, with a full benefits package
Work schedule: 40 hours per week + 10 hours OT per week

Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Nanny with neurodivergent experience and knowledge to join a welcoming family in the Roaring Fork Valley. This role focuses on caring for two children, and the ideal candidate will be proactive, energetic, and deeply passionate about childcare. A strong emphasis on education, creative development, and expertise in special education, particularly neurodiversity, is highly valued.
Role Responsibilities
- Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for the children.
- Ensure safe transportation to and from school, extracurricular activities, and appointments.
- Plan, organize, and oversee daily play, learning activities, and enrichment experiences such as sports, music lessons, and playdates.
- Work collaboratively with specialists and implement recommended strategies to support the children’s development and education.
- Assist with homework and school projects.
- Travel domestically and internationally, sometimes for extended periods (e.g., one month).
- Accompany the family on trips while maintaining the children’s routines (e.g., spending summers in Switzerland and traveling during school holidays).
- Manage the children’s wardrobes, including clothing organization and laundry.
- Prepare and pack for travel, ensuring all needs are met, including:
- Planning activities and games for long travel times and transitions.
- Anticipating and addressing challenges by maintaining skill development and behavioral strategies.
- Packing essential items such as clothing, outdoor gear, hygiene products, comfort items, and entertainment.
- Researching and planning activities tailored to the children’s skills and interests at the destination, ensuring necessary equipment is available.
- Collaborate with the Head Nanny and the other household staff.
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks for the children.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in all areas related to the children.
- Uphold strict confidentiality regarding all aspects of the family’s personal and professional life.
Candidate Requirements
- A childcare-related qualification is essential, along with strong knowledge and experience in special education.
- Experience with self-directed learning and supporting neurodivergent children is a plus.
- Must be a confident swimmer and capable of supervising children during swimming activities.
- Seeking a proactive, experienced, and responsible individual who takes initiative and understands their role.
- A valid driver’s license is required and a willingness to obtain a Colorado driver’s license after hire.
- Fluency in English is essential; additional languages are a plus.
- A cheerful, enthusiastic, and child-focused professional who genuinely enjoys working with children.
- Open-minded and creative in planning engaging and developmentally appropriate activities at home and while traveling.
- Able to anticipate and respond to the needs of the children and family.
- Comfortable working collaboratively in a team environment with other household staff (Head Nanny, Housekeepers, Estate Manager)
- Must hold a U.S. passport or permanent residency.
- Pet-friendly.
- CPR and First Aid certification required.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
