Overview and Job Description
An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a dedicated, loyal, and highly experienced Housekeeper to join a prestigious private household based in London. This is a full-time, permanent position offering flexibility, travel, and the chance to work as part of a collaborative, long-standing domestic team.
The ideal candidate will bring longevity in previous roles, outstanding references, and an unwavering commitment to maintaining impeccable household standards. A positive, proactive attitude, strong attention to detail, and discretion are essential. This is a home where elevated presentation and cleanliness are maintained at all times.
The family is dog-friendly, and while a professional dog carer is employed, occasional assistance with feeding and care may be required. A love of dogs is essential.
Role Responsibilities
- Daily housekeeping to an exceptional standard across the residence
- Laundry and ironing, including daily towel changes and weekly linen changes
- Garment care: washing, ironing, steaming, wardrobe organisation
- Liaising with dry cleaners, cobblers, and specialist services
- Polishing of silver, crystal, and care of fine art, china, and collectibles
- Restocking household and cleaning supplies (coffee, water, etc.)
- Assistance with packing, unpacking, and luggage management for travel
- Coordination of deliveries, trades, and household maintenance visits
- Errand running and light household shopping
- (Optional) Preparation of simple, tasty classic meals when required
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a similar private household role
- Demonstrable longevity and commitment in previous employment
- Excellent written and verbal references
- Dog friendly and happy to step in when needed
- Willing and able to travel with the family (live-in accommodation provided when travelling)
- Strong English communication skills
- Discreet, polished, and impeccably presented
- Flexible, energetic, and adaptable to changing schedules
