Shift pattern: 2 days ON / 2 days OFF or 5 days ON / 2 days OFF, depending on the household’s needs

Job Description

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced laundress to join a private household near Geneva. The successful candidate will be responsible for the meticulous care and maintenance of the family’s personal laundry and household linens. This role demands expertise in handling delicate luxury textiles, stain removal, ironing, sewing repairs, and managing the laundry room with precision and discretion.
 
Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in laundry work within luxury environments
• Expert knowledge of delicate fabrics (silk, linen, cashmere, etc.) and stain removal techniques
• Proficient in ironing using traditional irons and steam generators
• Sewing skills, including hemming, mending, and button replacement
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage laundry flows efficiently
• Attention to detail and commitment to high standards of cleanliness and presentation
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with discretion and professionalism
• Proficiency in English, French, or Russian
• Swiss or European passport holder (to facilitate the work permit process)

 
Role Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the family’s personal laundry and household linens with care and precision
• Treat and remove stains from delicate fabrics
• Hand wash, dry, iron, and finish garments to the highest standard
• Perform dry cleaning and liaise with specialist dry cleaners when required
• Maintain upholstery and ensure the laundry room is clean and organised
• Carry out regular maintenance checks on laundry equipment
• Keep accurate linen inventories and report any issues promptly
• Adhere strictly to household protocols, maintaining confidentiality and discretion
