Overview and Opportunity:
 
Achieve Hospitality are delighted to be partnering with a charming, award-winning country inn offering 16 cosy en-suite rooms, a well-regarded seasonal restaurant (2 AA Rosettes), and a relaxed, traditional pub atmosphere. Set in a scenic village near the Yorkshire Dales, it’s popular with walkers and also offers riverside yurts for glamping. Dog-friendly and known for excellent food, local ales, and warm hospitality.
 
They are keen for an experienced Sous Chef to join their kitchen team.
 
Role Responsibilities:

• Support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations and lead in their absence
• Prepare and present high-quality, seasonal dishes to 2 AA Rosette standard
• Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff
• Manage stock, ordering, and minimise waste
• Maintain food hygiene, health & safety standards (HACCP compliance)
• Assist in menu planning and development using local ingredients
• Ensure smooth, timely service and coordinate with front-of-house teams
• Help control food costs and maintain GP targets.

Candidate Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie in a quality kitchen (ideally Rosette-level)
• Strong cooking skills with a passion for fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced food
• Excellent kitchen leadership and team supervision abilities
• Solid understanding of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP
• Good organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and attention to detail
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and across service periods
• A genuine interest in countryside hospitality and high standards.
