Nestled in the heart of a majestic mountain setting, the Chalet blends alpine charm with refined luxury. From its timber-clad exterior and stone foundations to the soaring rooflines and panoramic windows, the chalet exudes warmth and elegance while blending harmoniously with its natural surroundings.
This luxury Chalet in the Austrian Alps are looking for an experienced Chalet Chef to cater for up to 25 guests through the season. The Chalet Chef is responsible for delivering a high-quality, tailored culinary experience for guests at the Chalet. The role combines creativity, hospitality, and efficiency to ensure exceptional dining in a luxurious mountain setting.
Role Responsibilities:
- Plan and prepare daily meals (breakfast, afternoon tea, dinner), tailored to guest preferences and dietary needs.
- Design seasonal menus with creative flair, ensuring presentation meets luxury standards.
- Maintain a clean, well-organised kitchen and comply with all food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Manage stock, order supplies within budget, and reduce waste.
- Communicate warmly with guests, adapting menus as needed and ensuring a memorable dining experience.
- Collaborate with the chalet team to deliver seamless, high-end service throughout the guest stay.
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience as a chef in luxury chalets, private households, fine dining, or high-end hospitality.
- Formal culinary training (e.g. Cordon Bleu, NVQ Level 2/3 or international equivalent).
- Ability to plan and deliver varied, high-quality menus with excellent presentation.
- Strong understanding of dietary requirements and allergen management.
- High standards of cleanliness and full knowledge of food hygiene practices (HACCP certification or equivalent).
- Excellent time management and organisational skills in a solo or small team setting.
- Professional, discreet, and guest-focused with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, adapt to guest preferences, and remain calm under pressure.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
- Previous seasonal experience in ski chalets or remote mountain locations.
- Knowledge of wine pairing and/or bar service.
- Driving licence (for shopping or remote locations).
- Basic French (or relevant local language, depending on location).
- EU Passport OR Working Holiday VISA OR Austrian Residency
