Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum
Work Schedule: 5 days per week (9am-6pm standard), flexibility required for early/late shifts or travel

A prestigious UHW household in Kensington is seeking an experienced Laundress to join an established housekeeping team. The residence is a large property spread over five floors, with six housekeepers supporting the family’s day-to-day needs.
The Laundress will take ownership of all laundry, garment care, and wardrobe management, maintaining the highest standards of presentation and service. Occasional travel with the family will be required, so applicants must hold a valid UK or EU passport with Right to Work in the UK.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver an exceptional standard of laundry and garment care for the family and their guests.
- Manage all aspects of the laundry: washing, pressing, spot cleaning, minor repairs, stain treatment, and coordinating dry cleaning.
- Maintain full ownership of the Principals’ wardrobes, clothing, linens, towels, and shoes, ensuring they are impeccably cared for and well organised.
- Support packing and unpacking for trips; prepare wardrobes for travel and special events.
- Keep laundry areas and equipment clean, tidy, and well maintained.
- Monitor and rotate laundry stock (linens, towels, household textiles).
- Provide guidance and training to junior housekeeping staff within the laundry.
- Assist with general housekeeping duties when required, supporting the wider team in maintaining household standards.
- Liaise with the Principals and management regarding wardrobe requirements, repairs, or replacements.
- Ensure all tasks are completed to household SOPs and expected service levels.
- Be flexible in responding to ad hoc requests or last-minute changes.
- Work confidently in a busy family home, comfortable around children and dogs.
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Laundress or in a specialist laundry/wardrobe role within private households, luxury hotels, or couture services.
- Excellent knowledge of fabric care, stain removal, pressing, and delicate garment handling.
- Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to manage time efficiently and work both independently and as part of a team.
- A discreet, professional, and proactive approach.
- Flexibility to work occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends when required.
