Role: Mother’s Helper
Location: Gerrards Cross,  Buckinghamshire
Salary: Up to £40,000gross per annum DOE
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day, 5 days a week (Tuesday to Saturday) Flexibility with start times required.

A warm and busy family of four based in Gerrards Cross, is seeking an experienced, kind-hearted and energetic Mother’s Help to support the household. The role is live-out and requires someone confident, proactive, and able to work in partnership with Mum, who is very hands-on and at home with the children.

Responsibilities:

Childcare:

• Shared care with Mum, working as a team to ensure consistency with routines and rules.
• Supporting children with play, activities, and daily routines.
• Calmly handling situations such as tantrums, following the family’s approach (soothing rather than ignoring).
• Providing safe, engaged supervision, particularly when Mum is busy.

Housekeeping:

• Nursery duties: tidying children’s rooms, making beds, bringing down laundry
• Keeping shared areas downstairs clean and tidy
• Weekly cleaners in place for deep cleaning

Cooking:

• Preparing healthy, home-cooked meals and snacks for the children 
• Confidently cooking meals for the parents when needed
• Creative with flavours and able to follow recipes
• Occasionally cooking in bulk for family friends.

Candidate Requirements:

• Kind, warm, and naturally thoughtful
• Energetic and able to keep up with two young children and a large family home
• Confident, switched-on, and able to think independently while also working collaboratively with the parents
• Strong common sense and life experience
• Calm under pressure and experienced in managing children’s behaviour
• Flexible and adaptable to changes in routine
