Job Description

Role Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted partner throughout the event planning process.
  • Develop tailored menus, event proposals, pricing structures, contracts and operational plans in line with client requirements and budgets.
  • Manage all event logistics, including food preparation, transportation, set-up, service and post-event clearance.
  • Recruit, train, schedule and develop catering team members, ensuring consistently high standards of service and professionalism.
  • Manage food and labour costs through effective budgeting, purchasing, staffing, portion control and resource planning.
  • Coordinate temporary staff, external suppliers, equipment and other resources required for successful event delivery.
  • Work closely with culinary and operations teams to ensure events run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Respond to client feedback and resolve concerns professionally, identifying opportunities to enhance the overall catering offering.
  • Monitor operational performance and ensure events are delivered within agreed budgets and commercial targets.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and all relevant food safety, health, safety and sanitation requirements.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability and continuous improvement across the catering operation.

  • Previous experience overseeing catering operations and delivering events in a high-standard corporate or hospitality environment.
  • Strong knowledge of menu costing, pricing, contract management, event planning and logistics.
  • Proven ability to manage food costs, labour budgets and operational resources effectively.
  • Demonstrable experience leading, motivating and developing catering or hospitality teams.
  • Excellent client relationship management and communication skills, with the confidence to work with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple events and competing priorities.
  • A professional and polished approach, with exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to outstanding service.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with culinary, operational and external supplier teams.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Culinary Arts or a related discipline would be advantageous.
  • ServSafe certification or another recognised food safety qualification would be beneficial.

Benefits

  • Competitive annual salary of $85,000–$95,000.
  • Opportunity to lead a high-profile corporate catering and events programme.
  • The chance to work within a recognised hospitality organisation.
